Good Evening. I have an HP printer. I wanted to use one of the HP programs
called HP Director. I wnated to scan some old family photos. It would not
work so I contacted HP and was told that HP will not work with IE7. So I
uninstalled IE7. Now my IE6 will not connect to the internet. I do have
connection as you can see I am at this community via Vista. I tried to
reinstall IE7 and it would not work so I removed it. I would appreicate any
and all suggestions as what to check for to get it working with XP. Thanks
and have a good night. I will check for responses tomorrow night.

Hi,

This what I find at http://msdn.microsoft.com/ie/releasenotes/default.aspx

"To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 RC1 and restore Internet Explorer 6 when
using Windows XP or Windows Server 2003

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Click Add or Remove Programs.
Scroll down to Windows Internet Explorer 7, click it, and then click
Change/Remove.
If you cannot find Windows Internet Explorer 7 in Add or Remove Programs,
click Start, click Run, type
%windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe, and then press ENTER."

If IE6 doesn't work, you could download the full installation package (I
have some addresses at www.hlrnet.com/tecapie.htm) and install it again.

Kind regards

Hans

Hi Hans. I always use add & remove programs to uninstall if I can. Anyway,
that is what I did and it did not work. I tired to reinstall IE7 but it did
not work so I uninstalled it again. I tired to install IE6 but that failed
also. So everything you suggested I did but still no go. That is why I came
here. Thank you.

Well I finally got it to work. It would not work on IE7 Beta 2. So I
installed IE7RC1 and it works. Thanks for your help
