IE7 thinks it is off-line

I have IE 7, and when an URL is not found (either because of a typo or
because it is down), IE 7 thinks that it is off-line, even though I
have a cable broadband connection. Is there a way to keep IE from
thinking that it is off-line if an URL is not found?

I see in http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie7/default.mspx that
the recommended newsgroup is microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

In a proper newsreader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

If you must use a web interface:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

Thanks. It is hard for a user to guess that. I had none a search of
newsgroups with "ie7" in them, but it only turned up French and German
ones.
