hello,

i reinstalled ie7 and can't figure out how to get the zoom/magnifying glass
to reappear on the bottom right hand corner of the broswer.

i can zoom in and out via ctrl+ and ctrl-, but the zoom selection is better
for poor eyesight... thanks in advanced.

Sounds like it's working OK.
I don't have any icon displayed for that feature...it just works.
Do you have a scroll wheel mouse? They are great for the feature.

yes the ctrl scrollwheel works too.

but i depend on the zoom pull
down in the bottom right hand
corner where the little retangal
is for the "internet security zone"

Assuming WinXP...

1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode? To start
IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or

Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
add-ons).

Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer’s (No Add-ons) Mode:

2. Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Settings (RIES)?

3. If you uninstall (a) IE7 *exactly* per the link below (which
automatically returns you to IE6), (b) all toolbars and (c) all third-party
Windows Themes (including Window Blinds) and do NOT reinstall IE7, does this
behavior persist? If it does, do NOT reinstall IE7.

I strongly recommend using

Tip: Save the installer to your desktop, do not Run it.

5. Make *certain* that you check in at Windows Update immediately after
reinstalling IE7 to install any critical updates offered. If Optional
Updates category offers Root Certificates update, I recommend installing it
to take full advantage of IE7's additional security.

thanks for your help.

i tried the no-add on's method and
didn't show the zoom selection option
or provide the ability to enable it
from anywhere in the menu or
options.

i went to that website ie-issues
but there was nothing noted
about the zoom selector.

i could do a system restore and
maybe the option will show up
again in the browser. but i
prefer not the restore the system
just for a browser feature.

i don't think it is anything special
about that zoom option that i thought
appeared by default in the status bar
on the bottom right hand corner.

further, ms describes that feature
and its location as something that
is standard for the browser.

but for some reason it is not showing
up nor can i remember how to get it back.

i do remember that a while back
i was able to set the default size
from 100 to 120 via a registry
setting. but when i did that
that browser zoom/magnifing
feature was present in the
status bar of the browser.
