I simply can't understand why anyone should prefer IE6 to IE7. IE6 was
full of security holes and it has been used as trojan horse for a whole
universe of malware. It hasn't tab browsing and it's definitely out of
date. Maybe you should give IE7 a second chance and try using it a bit more.
IE6 is cleaner, simpler, and does not break long established standards.
IE7, IE6, FF, every browser on the planet, and every piece of software
ever written has bugs and security holes and they always will. IE7
though has a MASSIVE amount of added features that are merely a waste of
time and overhead (search box on address bar, tabbed browsing, address
bar locked at the top above the standard menu bar, tool bars that are no
longer customizable, etc)
NOTHING is 'obviously yes'.
You can run Vista in classic mode, however you'll loose also GPU
acceleration for the graphic interface. Which is bad, as AERO improves
system speed by uncharging the CPU from rendering windows. Anyway you
shouldn't wait for a new Windowblinds version, as Vista supports themes
itself. You should only wait someone to create a "Xp theme" for Vista.
You dont need acceleration if you are not wasting a mass amount of your
computer power just to have all kinds of fluffy and glitzy colors and
crap all over your screen. **** windowblinds, if I wanted themes I
wouldnt be concerned with classic mode. I dont need a theme thats just
customized glitz.
Anyway, I suggest to try using Vista GUI with a more open mind: you
should learn how-to-do things in Vista, rather than pretend to
use-the-old-way everytime. You'll discover most of operations are really
faster on Vista than thwy were on XP, using new tools it gives to you.
I suggest that you not be so closed minded to think that you think any
OS out of the box is perfect for everyone. The look and feel of the
desktop has crap to do with how an OS operates. If you are saying that
MS has made it so that you HAVE to use a particular desktop design to
use the OS then MS has gone one step further in screwing up windows than
I thought. Bottom line is that MOST people dont need to waste their
computer power on Aero and its ability to "provide spectacular visual
effects such as glass-like interface elements that you can see through".
What a waste! Nor do I need things like side bars that pop out form all
over the place. I prefer a clean simple uncluttered desktop without all
kinds of glitzy fluffy AOLish interface.
