I didn't seean IE7 managed newsgroup so I wasn't sure where to post this.
I'm seen this on two computers so far upgrading from ie6 to ie7 using
microsoft update on a windows xp pro sp2 macine. AFter the update and rebot
I attempt to launch ie7 and instaed of attempting to go to my home page its
attempting to forward to http://go.microsoft/com/fwling/?LinkId=74005
also a popup box prompting me for a puser name and password to connect to
bombay.alliance.com stating the server bombay.alliance.com at Alliance
Internet Gateway requiresa user name and password.
My initial thought was this was a virus or malware causing it so I ran a
virus scan a pestscan and removed everything. Still no luck.
I went so far as to rebuild the pc using the manufactuer supplied restore CD
and OS. When I udated using microsoft update agian the same issue happened
after microsoft updated to ie7.
any ideas on this
