Hi

Does anyone know how to get a IE icon on the desktop, not a shortcut, but an
actual system icon like the "Computer" icon?
This feature was available in IE6 Advanced Internet Settings.

Thanks
Steve

There is a setting in the registry for that. I forgot what it is, but
someone here will remember I'm sure.

Here you go...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel]
"{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}"=dword:00000000

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Easiest way. Copy the above and create a .REG file.

1 PRINT "Windows Vista ERROR"
GOTO 1
END

Right click the desktop, select [properties], click on [Desktop], select
[Customize Desktop...], check the [Internet Explorer] box.

This does not apply to RTM. You must be running RC1.
