Is anyone having a problem with IE7 maing out the CPU? I am running XP Pro
SP2 w/1 GB RAM. Every time I open IE7, the CPU goes to 100% and stays. When I
removed IE7 and went back to IE6, the CPU runs around 4-6% with occasional
spikes.

Any ideas? MS glitch?

Note: I did try IE7 beta versions with their associated problems. Is there
something left in the registry?

IE7 questions should be posted to the Internet Explorer General newsgroup as
below -

In your Newsreader:

If you need to use the Web Interface -

Antioch: I posted it there also. Makes no difference where I post it. MS does
not care. MS will not admit they goofed. Look on the general site and see
what is going on.

Should have said so - I'm not a mind reader:-)
I have the below in a folder I saved just in case I lost my self-control and
downloaded IE7

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/support/default.mspx

The below I think is more about the betaware -

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=microsoft+uninstall+ie7+problems&btnG=Search&meta=

You have a week to get it sorted before you will be hit with this months
Black Tuesday criticals/fixes/patches etc.

Good luck

I did not see anything useful on those sites - only unsolved problems. My
point is that IE7 should not have been released with a bug that the IE
General forum has confirmed exists. A regular user should not be subjected
the an ordeal like they will have to endure. BAG IT MS and go back to the
drawing board!!

I have never had this problem before and no longer having it since going
back to IE6.

If you must make identical posts to multiple newsgroups, please cross-post
one (1) message to all of them. Thank you.

Does the behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?

Those using IE7 are asked to post their comments & questions to and seek
support in microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general newsgroup.
