IE7 and Add-Ons Problem

Recently I had a problem with the PC and was opening IE with add-ons
disabled. I have now fixed the mem problem I was having - and open in the
normal way - with add-ons..... HOWEVER..........(and herein lies the
problem)..... Whenever I click on a link in an email in OL Express and it
opens IE, it comes up with add-ons disabled and I cannot figure out how to
stop this. I went into tools and clicked on "enable" under each and every
add-on and, like I said, I CAN start it ok - it's just when it starts up from
a link that it goofs up. HELP HELP

Windows XP or Vista? (Might or might not be important.)

From Start> Programs> right-click the Internet Explorer icon> Properties>
Shortcut. If the Target is
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff
edit out the -extoff (leave the quotes) then OK your way out of
Properties.

There might be more that one IE icon- one at the top of the Start Menu,
another in Programs, etc. If the issue persists, check all IE icons.

The above message is FAKE, while I did post the same content, the above
message is a faked message - the headers prove that I didn't make such
posts.

Have you tried resetting IE?
Internet Options -> Advanced tab -> Reset button.

Could be one of the add-ons is causing the problem. Disable all the
add-ons. Then click on the link in the e-mail and check if IE is still
loading in its no add-ons mode. The idea is to disable the add-ons but
still have IE load in its add-ons enabled mode. If IE will load in its
add-ons enabled mode (despite all add-ons are disabled individually)
then you have an add-on causing the problem.

Tried rebooting into Windows' safe mode (with networking) and then
checking what happens when you click on a link in an e-mail?

This is pcbutts1 (Chris) again pretending to be Leythos. If you should
find out about Chris (and his many monikers), he hopes that you'll
accept any advice from him while he pretends to be Leythos, or David
Lipman, or PA Bear. Buttlicker posts through Teranews (in this case)
whereas the real Leythos posts through Astraweb. If Chris The Zit were
ever stupid enough to post through Astraweb then Leythos could get zit's
account killed. Zit can't even figure out where the signature goes in a
reply post.

Van that was really me posting, I got drunk and was cursing him a little
too much. I still have not gotten over the rejection.

account with my provider and is using the same Usenet client I use, but
he's still exposed himself.

As you can see, he's so unethical that he's spent the money to get an
account with my provider and is using the same Usenet client I use, but
he's still exposed himself.

Astraweb can easily determine which is the offending account by using
the X-Trace header that they insert in posts through their service.
Whether Astraweb does anything depends on their attitude toward
imposters. According to their FAQ, "We add an ENCRYPTED line to the
headers containing information which can only be read by Astraweb staff.
The encrypted line is used for tracking abuse cases. Astraweb frowns
upon abusive users and requires this information to take action upon
such users." As an Astraweb user, you should be able to complain about
abuse from another Astraweb user.

Despite moving to Astraweb and using (or pretending to use) MicroPlanet
Gravity as his newsreader (instead of Windows Mail), he has still not
gotten all the headers correct. I'll leave it up to you to figure what
are still different. It's quite obvious once you see it.

You don't need to make it easier for him - I believe it was your
explaining of headers that caused the change in his posting method. He's
never been smart enough in the past to understand them.
