It locks up my system when I double click the ICON - no error messages

What locks up which system when you click on what icon - anything in event
viewer?
How did you get on the end of a thread dated 2 June 2006.
I think you are using the web interface - might explain it

Sorry, When I double click on Internet Explorer Icon, my computer locks up
and I have to hard boot it. No error message, it just freezes. Is IE6
corrupt?
 
I would try posting a new thread - perhaps with the title 'IE6 locks on
double click'.
Always start your own thread as opposed to coming in on someone elses
thread.

Probably a malware infection. Go to the Control Panel and click Internet
Options. On the Advanced tab uncheck Enable third party browsing
enhancements.
