I downloaded the recent SP1 and started but now it
continuaously pops up at start-up and says I need to
complete. I have tried shutting down all programs and even
downloaded and saved update to manually run set-up. Update
site says I have ran and successfully installed several
times but have yet to get my IE back to normal. I tried
Restore but it won't go back. How do I get it to complete.
I tried the fixes on MS site. I am running Millenium and
have plenty of power and memeory. Is there a removal tool.
I'd even give up my favorites folder to get this done and
start over.

For the "unable to install all components" issue in WinME, try this:

Go to My Computer - Tools - Folder Options - View:
- Select "Show hidden files and folders", click Apply - OK

Create a folder named "Old uninstall".

Go to folder C:/Program Files/Internet Explorer/Uninstall Information.

Now Edit - Select All - Cut all files.

Open "Old uninstall" folder and paste the files.

You will now be able to install all the troublesome components.

If everything works as expected, you can delete the "Old Uninstall" folder
and the files you moved.

Good luck,

Zee

Thanks, Zee. After 2 days of fighting this I got my
computer back to normal.I did have to go into selective
start-up like MS recommended. Turned off everything but
load Static VXD, then ran ie6setup again. Worked like a
charm.
