After doing a clean install to Win2K on this computer an IE6 browser window
won't close. I have applied the latest fixes. I have noticed that when going
to task manager 100 percent of cpu resources are taken most applied to the
browser. Attempting to close via "x" box, Alt-F4, File/Close returns an error
beep. Task manager will close. I reapplied Win2K as an upgrade and have
applied all the patches, etc. no change. Any ideas?

Hello,
Try booting into Safe Mode to see if the problem also exists there. If not,
you could do some clean boot troubleshooting to determine what application /
service / driver is causing the problem.

Note: you can also use MSConfig.exe from a Windows XP machine to make the
clean boot process a little easier.
