IE6 won't close down

I'm running a P4 Windows XP Home edition and the browser
won't respond to close down command either top left or
right. CPU running at 100% as soon as IE6 loaded. This
has just happened and seems to have coincided with a
download of WINMX. Deleting all traces of WINMX has not
solved the problem. Also MyWay appeared on IE6 at the
same time. Any help appreciated.. Mike M.
