IE6 won't close; can't tab between fields

I can use IE 6 just fine. I don't have any problems while
I am using it other than I can't tab between fields
(problem #1). When I try to close IE, it does not do
anything (problem #2). I can continue to use it. The
only way that it will close is for me to Ctrl-Alt-Del and
go to Task Manager, then shut it down that way. When I do
that, IE does not close right away. After a few seconds,
I get a window stating that IE6 has stopped responding.
If I click on 'End Now', IE closes. The only thing that
has changed around the time this started was that I
installed a Pop-up blocker. Thinking that that was the
problem, I de-installed it. But, the problems continue
any way. I have re-installed IE6, defragmented the HD and
scanned for viruses. All is good. Any ideas?

Have you received any recommendations to solve this
problem? I am experiencing exactly the same issues (both
tabbing and closing IE). I also noticed that when this
occurs some of the keyboard keys won't work (e.g.,
Delete) and CPU utilization goes to 100%.

It started happening on 6/26/03. I reinstalled WindXP
and IE6 (SP1) several times but the problem is still
there...

Lately I'm also getting a lot of blank popups "Web Page
Dialog" that just sit there and don't go away. Spoke to
MS and Gateway (my computer maker) and did everything
they recommended but no luck.

Please let me know where you stand on this problem.

Thanks,
Mark

I think I found a solution to this problem. Download
version 6 (the latest) of Ad-Aware and let it scan your
entire system. I did it and found a lot of hidden crap
on my system that neither Norton virus checker nor Ad-
Aware 5 could find. Now the browser works just fine...

Good luck.
