Every now and then, my wife or I will be browsing the web
when a mysterious command loop begins. Under some
condition which we have yet to determine, new browser
windows begin opening. These aren't pop-unders, so it's
not advertising, and the windows open with the "Page can
not be displayed" error message. They continue to open
every three seconds and nothing stops them except
restarting the computer.

We are operating IE6 (no service pack 1, thank you) and
Windows ME. Anyone else experiencing this phenomonon?

The same thing is happening to me the past 5 days. I
sometimes get as many as 32 of these windows loading.
Looks like the c9mputer is going crazy. Some wndows have
the error message as you stated and some are ads.
Sometimes they cause my computer to freeze and other
times they just all disappear after they are finished
loading.
If I am off line, I am getting the message "this page
cannot be displayed while off line"
This is very annoying.

might be that you opened one of those websites which hack through your
system and install some software...indeed that could make you go crazy.

download, install, update, and clean you computer using spybot search and
destroy from http://security.kolla.de and hopefully, your problems will go
away.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware
