Running Windows XP upgraded and I am not able to access
the internet through IE. When I click IE, I am told that
there was an error and asked to send an error report to
MSFT. I can access the internet through My Computer. I
have reinstalled Windows XP and still have the problem.
Please help me fix this problem.

Many thanks!

I have the same problem. See if the error is due to
winshow.dll when the text box pops up. If so, there are
programs you can buy to get rid fo the file. If anyone
knows a better, cheaper way, please share.

I too had the same problem. I discovered this earlier post by Ramesh which fixed my problem in about 30 seconds!!

To test with: Disable third-party browser extensions in Internet
Explore
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel
2. Double-click Internet Options
3. Click the Advanced tab
4. Under Browsing, clear the Enable third-party browser extensions
(requires restart) check box
5. Restart Internet Explorer

Welcome, Gordon.

That step is only a Quickfix. Read here for further troubleshooting:
