IE6 will not finish loading

When starting IE6, bottom of screen displays "2 items remaining", windows
logo at top right keeps waving. This never stops and eventually my cable
connection drops. In order to have IE display again, have to powerdown my
router and power it up again. Ideas?

Please follow these steps:

1. Click Start, run, type "inetcpl.cpl" (with out quotation marks) and click
OK.
2. In the resulting window, click On the Connections tab and click the LAN
settings button.
3. In the resulting window, ensure that there are no check marks.
4. Click OK.

Once you are done with the above steps, please close and reopen Internet
Explorer and let me know if the problem persists.

Change your Home Page? Try About:Blank instead.

That will at least allow you to open IE and more windows when
one hangs.

As for the specific hang try doing some diagnosis.
E.g. uncheck Show Pictures (Options, Advanced tab, Multimedia section)
Can you open the problem page then? Experiment with each image placeholder
on that page (e.g. right-click Show Picture) and figure out which ones
are causing the problem symptom.
