Here's a new one for me... When I open explorer,
everything seems to work fine, but if a page cannot be
found, it gives me a Visual C++ Runtime error and shuts
down. Any ideas...????

Thanks in advance...

Henry

The solution is often in the exact and complete error message. If not joy
with these then please post your message(s) back to this thread.

Runtime Library Microsoft Visual C++. Runtime Error Program
C:\Windows\Explorer.exe or Iexplore.exe, abnormal program termination.
http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/CommonName.html

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Buffer overrun detected!
Program: C:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's
internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be
terminated.
This has been confirmed as parasites.

Runtime!
"Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\explore.exe"
The application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
It appears that I have both Java(Sun) and MS VM on the PC. After
disabling/unchecking Java(Sun) the runtime error ceased in IE6. Source:
