I have cleaned everything out such as temporary internet
files, ran my spybot program, etc. and I still have a
problem with my internet explorer taking MINUTES to
open. If I leave my computer on during the day, later
connect to the internet, it has taken as long as 6-10
minutes from double-clicking the blue E until the browser
actually opens. Mailwasher does the same thing, however
all other programs will open instantly.

Any thoughts on this?

I have the exact same problem. Mine started by itself a few days ago
without installing anything or any changes to my OS/WinXP Pro. You can
check out this link for a thread I had going about it on BBR. I got a
lot of suggestions, tried them all, but I still have the problem,
maybe something there might help you.

Christina,
The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
