WHen I open my IE6 it goes to the homepage fine but it's
stuck there. I can't go to any other website or other links.
ALso when I try typing a new web address in the address
box, the letters I punch in show up very slowly on the
screen. I tried repairing my xp install to no avail. I
installed Netscape browser and that is working fine.
Please help me.

A hijacker may be the cause of your problem (Datanotary). It works by
generating a (hidden) pop-up window that is triggered when a victim tries to
type into a form on a web page. Go to IE tools, internet options,
accessibility. If the option to 'format documents using my style sheet' is
turned on, turn it off AFTER noting down the path to the CSS file being
used. Search for and rename that css file.

The file bootconf.exe may exist on your system, which is used by a hijacker
related to coolwwwsearch, coolwebsearch, youfindall.net, ok-search.com and
white-pages.ws search hijackers. Use AdAware, Spybot, BHO Daemon or
HijackThis to get rid of it:

Bear, all summarized quite well here: http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/cws/
IIRC Ad-aware's latest gets this one.
