IE6 & SP2 under XP No Full Screen?

My problem is as follow, i know that the following is working fine for the
first screen (iexplore.exe -k) but if i follow a link to the next page i
still have the status bar at the bottom does anny body know how to get this
away?

Start IE without the -k switch.
Toggle into Fullscreen mode if necessary (e.g. press F11.)
Use the View menu to toggle off the Status bar (Alt-V,B).
Close that window and retry opening iexplore with the -k switch.
