How can I obtain a CD for IE6-SP1. Usually, when I need
to download internet related programs, I am having
internet trouble to begin with; any help would be
appreciated..

Regards

Hi -

I think that CD which was offered at or around Feb 2004 is no longer
available. All of the links I had when obtaining that CD at that time are no
longer available.

The MSKB article listing which updates were on the CD is also a "dinosaur",
and is now extinct.

Unless someone knows otherwise, I think the OP is S.O.L.

Back at about the same time the Security CD was first offered, the IE site
also offered a CD with the complete variety of IE 6 sp1 files for all
different installations of IE6; it was free, but unlike the Security CD, one
had to pay S & H. Don't have the link, but as I recall it could be found at
the IE site.

Not sure this is the one I saw before, but it's the one at the IE site.

Hey thanks Joe. It seems that this is "just" IE6 and SP-1, but it would be
good to have I suppose. Particularly good if a person were using dial-up.
Just when you finish using the web to download IE6 and SP-1 the package
would arrive. <VBG>

Good also if for some reason, you couldn't access the web to download it and
were "friendless". <g>

Sort of a 'warm-up' for XP SP2?

No, not sure about that. Just a guess, but probably was something offered
long before XPSP2 was even considered.
