I am having problems with Internet Exlporer shutting down on me about every
5 minutes. I've looked for answers and no one seems to have an answer. I
also want to let you know I have run just about every piece of spyware
deleting programs possible, so I know that spyware is not the problem so
please don't tell me that. Anyway here is the Error Signature:

AppName: iexplorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 Mod Name: mshtml.dll
ModVer:6.0.2800.1276 Offset: 001f0eca

Have you tried to extract a new copy of the mshtml.dll file? Re-register it?

I couldn't seem to find a new copy of the .dll anywhere online (if that's
what you mean) for XP. I found one for every other OS and I'm getting
frustrated. I'm not too sure what you mean by re-registering it either? I
tried a couple hot fixes dealing with the problem, but it said I needed
service pack 1. So then I tried to install sevice pack 1 and it told me I
had a newer version. So pretty much I'm stuck in a rut. If you could
expand your question though it would be appreciated.

Close any running applications. In Windows XP, go to run, type MSCONFIG.
Click on
Expand File. Type mshtml.dll in the File to restore box. In the Restore from
box type in the location of your original WinXP media (usually your CD drive
letter). In the save file in box type in C:\WINDOWS\system32.Then click
expand.

To re-register your internet dlls do the following:
1.. Quit all programs that are running.
2.. Click Start, and then click Run.
3.. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
4.. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded"
message, click OK.
If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each of
the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the file
names below):

a.. Shdocvw.dll
b.. Msjava.dll
c.. Actxprxy.dll
d.. Oleaut32.dll
e.. Mshtml.dll
f.. Browseui.dll

Do you have Yahoo Companion or Google Toolbar installed? Uninstall it.

HijackThis (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip) is the
preferred tool to use, helping to both identify and remove hijackware.
**Post your files to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.
