IE6 screen format is goofy

When accessing the Microsoft Knowledge Base (and some
other sites) the screen format is not normal. The screen
only has a white background - Larger than normal text -
No Microsoft blue header. The Search the Knowledge Base
text is in a different font and its background is also
white - No graphic. There is no Search the Knowledge
Base text box - just large text on the screen. There are
no text fields.
My DPI setting is Normal size (96 DPI), although I did
try the large font settings once. I'm using Windows XP
Home Edition with IE 6.0.2800.... What must I do to fix
this problem? I can't use the knowledge base screen the
way it is and some other sites don't look good either.
Thank you for your help.

Try hitting the F11 key after you open the Knowledge base screen, to reduce
size of screen.
(this does not always work but worth a try.)

Go to Control Panel and choose Accessibility Options and click on the Display tab. Look to see if Use High Contrast is checked. If it is, uncheck it. The same thing happened on a friend of mine's computer and that was the setting that everything screwed up.

Cheers,
Eric.

turn back to normal font size. if you need bigger fonts you can customize
them in the "v´deo properties/aparency/advanced"
verify if you have at least 800X600 resolution at hi-color(16 bits)
