Hi John
Just a shot in the dark, but, if you happen to have any toolbars installed,
like Google's or Yahoo's,
close IE then uninstall the program(s) through Add/Remove programs then open
IE again. See if that resolves the problem. If not, then try the
following:
Error Message: Application Has Requested the Runtime to Terminate it in an
Unusual Way…

This is sometimes caused by the CommonNames parasite. See:
http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/CommonName.html
Or this could be caused by another parasite. Try AdAware and Spybot.

or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, toolbars,
security, anti-virus, etc. Take a look at any program that might be
interacting with IE. You may have to reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.
another possibility:..
From Internet Options> Advanced, if you have Sun Java and microsoft VM
(virtual machine) uncheck Sun Java.

Courtesy of Henri Leboeuf:
First go to IE | Tools | Internet Options | Advanced...scroll down and
check the box next to "Disable script debugging" and uncheck "Display a
notification about every script error."
or ...............
Common script errors messages can be eliminated by Clicking:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. 3. In the Internet Options
dialog box, click Advanced.
4. Click to select the Disable script debugging check box.
5. Click to clear the Display a notification about every script error check
box.
6. Click OK.
If still no joy get the following:
Microsoft's Scripting download
Get the latest. Two download versions are available for Windows Script 5.6.
The first version is for Windows 2000, XP
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
Also....check to see if you have more than one Java program installed. If
so, uninstall one.
Hope this helps.
