IE6 really unstable

It seems like every time I come back to my computer after
it has been idle for a while, IE always is unstable. When
I first open it, it takes forever to actually open and
after about a minute, a window pops up saying that it has
encountered a problem and needs to close. But when I open
it again, there doesnt seem to be a problem. For example,
I've been on for an hour now and there hasnt been a
problem. Can someone help me out?
