I some posts the last couple of days on my problem. IE
started to act strangely - all of the sudden opening window
after window until of couse the CPU maxes out. Today, I
can't get IE to load at all. I click on the icon and see
the program loaded in the task manager, but no window opens
up. I loaded the IE 6 Service Pack 1 hoping that would fix
it but it did not.

Please, help. I really don't want to reload my entire
operating system if I don't have to. It sure feels like
it's a virus of some sort but I have Norton and I did scan
when it started acting strange. No virus appeared.

I did check my settings. There were no files shown under
Advanced. By the way, the only way I could do this was
right clicking on the icon and choosing properties. Since
IE won't open, I can't test it. And it still won't open.

If IE is not running, paste the link into your Windows
Explorer..that should get you to the Internet...

See if you can disable it.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.
