IE6 Problem

Hi,

I am having problems with IE6 on Win98SE. For example, the browser
automatically diverts to some dodgy webpage whenever it cannot find
the page specified (instead of giving the 404 Not Found page). To get
rid of this I tried to uninstall (through Control Panel)IE6 and
re-install it but I can't do
that either (I get a message saying that the files may be corrupted
and that there are no uninstall files). When I go to repair/restore
it through Control Panel it
does not work. There does not seem to be any uninstall.exe file for
IE6 either. Can someone please advise me on this.
Thanks
Brendan

I believe that IE keeps a backup copy of itself and if
those files are missing it cannot be un-installed. Have
you tried re-installing over the existing copy?
