Every time I double-click on any web page file on my hard
drive in Win XP (*.html,*.htm,*.mht), with IE6 already
open, I get a pop-up error message: "There was a problem
sending the command to the program." There is no other
info given about the error whenever this happens.
However, I can open these types of files from within a
previously open Internet Explorer window (File->Open) and
other programs. I have no other errors when surfing or
otherwise using my computer. I have checked that there
are no critical Windows Updates that I haven't already
downloaded. Also, if no other IE windows are already
open, then I do not get this error.
I've tried reseting the file associations, run ad-aware,
virus checker, disk defrag. Does anyone have any idea of
how to fix this, so that I can open my files normally? Or
at least, can anyone tell me what this error message
means? Thanks for any suggestions or comments.
