IE6 opens unknown home page

When IE6 is opened, it loads an unknown webpage. This
page can be different each time it is opened. Despite
selected home page in 'tools' it is overridden when IE is
opened for another session.

Also favourites are added to without my entry. After
clearing them in tools, they will reappear next time IE
is opened.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
