IE6 on windows 2000

Rinaldo

I have installed IE6 on two seperate windows 2000 systems (one old
compaq laptop on which I installed win2k myself, and one newlwer
compaq laptop with quick-restore Win2k installation) and had identical
problems on each after installed IE6. The main problems are:

1) browser javascript not working - ie. pressing a 'send' button
doesn't work

2) Control panel completely screwed in too many ways to mention

3) copy+paste functionality flaky - ie. copy a chunk of text from IE6
and paste into notepad - doesn't work

At first I thought it was a virus but not only do the virus checkers
show it to be clear, but also the two installations were completely
isolated from each other in terms of the software disks used. As it's
happened identically on two seperate installations I think it must be
a known problem - can anybody point me to a microsoft help page or
something that gives a remedy (eg service pack) for this problem, or
do you just not install IE6 on Win2k (trouble is, the telewest
blueyonder CD kind of requires it.)

Thanks in advance,
Rinaldo.

I just have run into the same problem. My Win2k system was working fin
with IE5.5, and as soon as I installed IE 6 I've lost javascrip
functionality, and copy and paste won't work in explorer... Hop
someone else out there knows the solution...
