I am having a problem which quite a few people seem to be
having. My IE6 runs fine with very minimal errors.
However, my OE6 will not open at all. At first I was
getting error messages 0x8007000e,3 and the missing
MSOE.dll file deal. I attempted to remove the dbx file,
which did not work. I then attempted to edit the registry
and reinstall both IE6 and OE6. This seemed like it was
going to work, as the download began and installation
commenced. Then, XP luck hit me square in the face! I got
a message stating that the program being installed is not
a Windows XP signature program. In other words, the OS
refused to allow the program to be installed due to lack
of testing by Microsoft. Excuse me??? This is Microsoft
IE6 we are talking about... Anyway, my dbx file is now
AWOL and nowhere to be found which gives me a new error
message when I try to start OE6. Luckily I have not lost
IE6 as of yet, but I would like to be able to access OE6.
I use Office 2000 Pro with Outlook 2000 for my POP3
email, but as we all know Outlook can not access
newsgroups. Anyone know of how I can reinstall without
triggering the XP wall? I have tried everything and a
reinstall seems to be the final solution.
Thanks,
Harry
