A friend of mine installed the MS updates this week, but at the same time,
loaded a CD from BellSouth for their DSL service. I told him when he called
me that he should have thrown the CD in the trash first as it is not needed
anyway, but then that's another topic althgether.
His issue is that he can only access secure web sites. Any standard http
address comes back with a "cannot find server or DNS error". I can find
pleanty of help on the converse, but not anything on this one in
particular.
Oh, and BTW, he's running Win98se (yeah, I know, but it was still working
well for him on dialup) and IE6. He remembers a service pack or something
like that for IE being in the latest critical updates he installed. And he
has the same problem on dialup and DSL. OE works fine for email, though.
Thanks,
Dave
