Not sure if there was an RFC that supercedes RFC1738 that deals with URLs,
but when using the RFC1738-stated syntax of
http://<username>:<password>@www.domain.com/index.htm to pass a username
and password in a URL from IE the result is 'The Page Cannot Be Displayed',
but from a Mozilla and Netscape browser it works okay. Is there something
else going on here that prevents IE6 from passing the URL and syntax that
includes the <password>:<username> format ? TIA ...
p.s. The link to the RFC is: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1738.txt
