ie6 not responding

I'm running XP home version. When I try to start IE it appears to try to
open my home page. However nothing happens, not even a message that it
cannot find the server.
I cannot even get to internet options. Nothing works.

If I click on anything I receive a message not responding and have to use
the task manager to get out of the program.

P.S. My email works and so does IE on the other users.

Any advise on how to fix this?
