IE6 not responding

i'm suddenly getting ie6 "not responding" on some
websites, my ISP included. works fine on some. other web
access programs do the same VERY occasionally but this
could be caused by IE locking first. there was an old
similar problem, is it back again ?

I too seem to be having a similar problem under the
following conditions. if i type a web address in such as.

www.location.com IE will hang everytime. However, if I
add the http, so it becomes:

http://www.location.com then all is fine.

I am running on windows XP, fully updated
