ie6 not downloading

hi all,

everytime I try to download anything from the internet
such as a game or a version of real player, I get a white
nothing. I click on the download box and a white window
comes up with that funny symbol in the top left and down
at the bottom it says done but nothing is there. Someone
told me it was a problem with the download manager portion
of my ie. can you help me?
