IE6 missing option boxes

When I go into Options/Advanced from Tools on IE 6 I can
see all the optional settings, but there are no check
boxes for me to make any adjustments. Its not like they
are greyed out, that area of the screen is completely
blank. I have tried re-installing to no avail, and am up
with all the latest patches (6.0.2800.1106IS).
I run W2K on administrator, so am unsure if something
changed in permissions there or if its IE6?

From http://fjsmjs.com/IE/check.htm

If the check boxes in Internet Options | Advanced are gone, right click a
blank spot on the Desktop and go to Properties | Appearance. In the Item:
field change the colors for 3D Objects (Preferably back to the default).

I tried that, and it changed nothing in the area I was
concerned with :-(
I thought it may have been some security setting to
prevent any changes?
Either way I would like them back, for although IE6
settings are fine for now...

Scrub that last message- I did get it to work- it was the
font setting!
The reason I did not suspect that was that all the writing
areas were visible (in black) and didn't suspect that a
white font would have caused a problem...but sorted now-
thanx for your help, and now I feel like a proper idiot!
lol
- a little knowledge is a dangerous thing..
