Hello all,
I have a word document on a web site that users can click on (Classic "Click
here" type hyperlink) and ie6 will open the document within the browser.
This is fine and as it is a password protected form, they can then enter
some data into the form fields in a reasonably simple and robust way. BUT
the menu bar appears to be a merge of the ie6 menu bar and words menu bar.
Specifically File->Send
gets access to the ie6 send options (send page, send link etc) and these do
NOT preserve the data entered into the form.
I can set the windows folder options for .doc files to NOT browse in the
same window and it launches word (as you would expect) BUT my users are
pretty simple and need an easy mechanism. I wanted to avoid telling them to
"Save the document, fill in the form and then email the document to me" and
instead say "Click on this link, fill in the form and now email it to me"
If I can find a way to FORCE ie6 to include the "standard" word menu (which
includes "send as an attachment") I'd be happy, if I can find some way of
forcing ie6 to save the file (specifically the data in the form) before
sending it I'd be happy. If I can find a better way of doing this, I'd be
happy.
Any help would, by me, be appreciated
Thanks
Stuart
