Hello,

I made the mistake of downloading Version 9.0 of Flash into a Win2000
Professional SP4 box with IE6 and now IE crashes when it tries to access my
isp provider home page (att.net), therefore I have no access to the internet.
Does anybody knows of a solution to this problem, other than un-installing
the flaky flashy flash?
Thanks for your time and attention, Ivan

Hi Ivan,

Check that the Flash ActiveX control has not been damaged. Tools > Internet
Options - General tab, Temporary Internet Files, Settings button, View
Objects button.

Right click on the Flash objects in the list to either repair or update the
controls.

Regards.

Rob,

.... It's my pc at home ... will try tonite (the one I upgraded last nite is
flash9c.ocx and there are a ton of postings in the adobe site with the same
problem and IE7 but none that I can see for IE6) ... Will let you know.
Thanks for your time, Ivan

I have the same problem. I try ininstalling and re-installing the latest
version of Flash on ie 6 sp 1 and the install process crashes my browser! I'm
pretty savvy tech-wise, but this has me baffled.

First I get an error message pop-up that says...

SysFader: iexplore.exe - Application error
============================
The exception illegal instruction
An attempt was made to execute an illegal instruction

Then it gives the address and tells me to click OK to shut down.

I click OK and the browser shuts down and re-opens again at my home page
(about:blank).

The bloody install process for Flash cannot even execute.

Anybody have a clue?

Rbrt,

.... I've not been able to find a solution to this problem yet. I removed the
flash and I do not try to re-install it. If you find a solution please post
it. Thanks, Ivan
