Using IE6 on a P4.

After about 5-60 minutes the internet connection drops
from IE (email and IM still work). The only way to
reestablish connectivity is to reboot.

I've tried disabling the firewall but the problem still
existists. I also installed Mozilla and the problem is
there as well.

Any suggestions?

Hi Corbin :-)

You did not mention your version of Windows or connnection type, but, in
addition to the information provided by Siljaline, you might also try the
following as may apply and see if it helps:

Prevent IE from disconnecting with DSL or cable connection

Control Panel
Network and Dialup Connections
Local Area Connection
Properties
Configure
Power Management
Uncheck both boxes on this dialog sheet

also...

If you leave your Internet connection running for lengthy
periods, some Internet service providers (ISP's) drop connections if there
is no activity on the account.

Click on Internet Options in Control Panel > go to the "Connections" "tab" >
check > "Dial whenever a connection is not present" > Apply > OK out.
Close Control Panel.

or...

Hope this helps :-)
