IE6 Locking up entire system

I'm currently running on Windows 98 and Internet Explorer
6.0.2800.1106.

In the beginning starting IE6 would occassionaly lock up
my entire computer. Now its happening very frequently,
leaving me quite frustrated & my research very delayed.
Causing me to completely restart, unable to "ctrl-alt-
delete" even.

It tends to happen more frequently when other programs are
open and running at the same time (ie, outlook etc).


I've checked for viruses, I have enough memory/ram. Is
there a patch or update I am missing here? Thanks for any
suggestions, they are greatly appreciated!

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Windows Update has some nice things for you, once you've eliminated the
scumware.

that. Still having the same problems.

Any other ideas??

Yet it still continously locks up and freezes my entire

None of the suggestions have been a resolved this issue.
Does anyone have any other recommendations?

It may be a problem on your computer, but IE6 runs fine on Win98 for most
people so the problem lies somewhere else on your system.

Do you run any Norton or McAfee programs?
