I have recently reinstalled ie6 and am now experiencing a
lock-up (almost like a time out) after browsing the WEB -
in fact I've got my fingers crossed that I get this
message out - I am able to reboot and gain access again -
but only temporarily - at some point when I try to
navigate to a new page I get a connecting to site
208.45.133.136 number in the lower left corner instead of
the Finding Site or Connecting to Site "xxx.com" and all
is finished.
I renamed the index.dat file in my C:\...\users\ folder
based on one article I read ... seemed to resolve the
problem - but only temporarily – seem to have access to
Outlook Express – that was the original reason I
reinstalled the whole thing – couldn’t get to the WEB or
Email.
System specs:
DELL Pentium III
Windows 98 /Second Edition
ie6
Norton Systemworks (all turned off right now)
What am I missing? (Didn’t make it the first time)
Thanks,
