IE6 Install Problem

Ok, I goofed up and somehow deleted IE6 SP2 from my computer. I have
followed almost every set of directions on the web, along with trying to
repair, to no avail. I have tried to load from the exe file from MS, but it
jumps from 1% to 99% immediately and I'm at my wits end. My main concern is
that I'm not able to use Windows Update to keep XP and all components updated
and fear trying to do it manually. I have ordered an XP SP2 disk for the
second time after not receiving one on the first request and am not sure if
this will help. Does any expert out there have an idea what I can do other
than wiping my hard drive clean and reinstalling XP and it's components? Any
help would be greatly appreciated in advance.....

Hi,
IE is an integral part of Windows XP and is (deliberately) difficult to
remove. You may have just removed access to IE.

Try this:
Go to Add/remove programs> Add/remove Windows components> put a check
by IE. OK your way out. Restart.

You may also have to go into "Set program access & defaults and make choices
regarding "Default" and "Enable access."

You may also have to go into Display properties> Desktop> Customize to check
IE under Desktop icons.

If the previous steps don't work...
Try IEFix at http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFAQ.htm#Reinstall
then

Hope this helps,
