IE6 hanging...

I am having a problem with IE6 where I can go to a page
OK, and go to about 2-3 links or other pages from there
and then Explorer hangs & will go no further. It hasn't
stopped responding as such. I have tried removing in &
reinstalling it etc but to no avail.

Only step left is to rebuild the PC which I am trying
desparately to avoid.

Its wrecking my head!

Any suggestions much appreciated.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.
 
I have been working on a similar issue with a web product
that I support for a living. We have found the
information and patch in KB article 818506 to fix the
issue in client environments.
