IE6 handling of CSS appears to be rather weak -- or am I wrong here?

I've been looking at IE6 rendering of various sites demonstrating CSS
compared to -- say Opera or Mozilla. To be honest, Microsoft seems to have
done the poorest job in this area for some reason, which is unfortunate
because it is the dominent browser.

For example:

http://www.w3.org/StyleSheets/Core/stylebot.html?family=7&doc=Specification

http://www.w3.org/StyleSheets/Core/stylebot.html?family=7&doc=Specification

Above SHOULD look like this:

http://www.meyerweb.com/eric/css/edge/gallery.html

Is there any chance Microsoft will correct their deficincy in this area?

Yeah, but don't hold your breath. The next major IE upgrade will come with
the next version of Windows, which will come out in perhaps 2 years. And
the upgrade won't work on any version of Windows that exists today.
