IE6- Google/yahoo/msn search DOES NOT WORK

Hi,

All of a sudden whenever I try and search with one of the
major www search engine such as google, and it doesn't
work! I get an error message "The page cannot be found"
as if google is down. But it isn;t, it is working fine,
just on my particular browser it doesn't work.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Check your system for "hijackware".

I highly recommend using HijackThis
(http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip) to identify and
assist in the removal of these bad guys. **Post your files to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.

PA BEAR thanks for the links!
they were very informative and helpful.

I downloaded ADWARE, got rid of 536 files, then
downloaded HIJACKTHIS, scanned my computer and posted the
log at forums.spywareinfo.com

Within a few minutes Tony recommended what I should
delete and I followed his directions. Problem solved!
Thanks for all your help, and opening my eyes to security
issues I didn't really know about.
