Help.
This problem crept up yesterday.
I am running WinXP SP2 and IE 6 SP2.

IE keeps hanging and goiing into "non responding" mode. It appears to
happen whenever I try to type a URL into the address bar (once I get
the 2nd character in, it crashes). I am not sure if it also happens at
other times, but I know it hangs when I do this.

I just did a full anti-virus scan and it turned up nothing.

Any ideas?
I am at a loss.

Thanks!
Morty

Turn off AutoComplete for Web addresses
(via Options, Content tab)
and clear History (Options, General tab)

BTW an "anti-virus scan" typically does nothing about the most prevalent
types of malware. See others' posts about diagnosing and removing
such other problem causes.

I am at a loss.

Good luck
