First... try launching it w/out being on-line. Either select to "Work
Offline" via that option under "File", from IE's menu (if you have enough
time to do it, prior to a freeze)... Or, physically disconnect your internet
connection prior to launching IE.
Does it crash now?
Try deleting your Temporary Internet files... close IE. restart it - and go
"On line".
Please post back if it makes no difference. But if you do... please include
more info about your system.
The same thing is happening to me. IE 6 works for a
minute or 2 and then stops responding. My Internet
connection is fine as I can still send/receive mail. I'm
using XP Pro.
