I am using IE6 on an XP Home machine. I can open IE6 and
brouse with no errors. When I attempt to close IE6 or a
separate window that opens, IE6 freezes and eventually I
get a not responding error.
I have run spybot and I am using Notron Internet Security
and have updated my definition files and scanned with no
viruses found.
I have also run msconfig and sytematically changed the
services and programs that start on bootup. On a couple
of occations the error seemed to be repaired but returned
a day or so later. I thought I had tracked teh problem
down to a lexmark printer driver that was no longer in
use, but my proplem persists.
I also updated my video driver as I found a reference to
that as a repair for this error. Again the problem went
away for a day or so and then returned.
I aslo uninstalled and reinstalled IE6 and patches.
I am getting to te point that I am infuriated everytime
this happens. I sure could use a real solution!
