Hi,
My IE6 nigh on unusable when logged on to my XP pro machine with SP2.
Pages take ages to load.
If I boot to Safe Mode with network support IE6 is as fast as other
browsers on my 2Mb Internet connection.
So it is pretty obvious something gets set up or run during a normal
boot that is interfering with IE6, but what?
I have run anti-spyware programs, ccleaner, cleared out TiF etc and it
is still the same.
No matter which user I log on to windows with, IE6 is very slow.
One suggestion form a Sys-admin type at work was a Windows update had
installed some Microsoft anti-spyware program that was checking the
content of each page before allowing IE6 to render it. I don't know if
that is plausible or not but coul there be something like this causing
the problem?
The fact it works in safe mode suggests it ought to be possible to track
down the problem but a quick search of this newsgroup seems to suggest
if the standard "check for spyware, clear the TiF" does not work then
there is no solution.
I am thoroughly fed up with this problem and if I could avoid using IE6
I would but I need to access site that rely on ActiveX.
